As part of the 9th International Competition „Franz Schubert and Modern Music“ (February 4-12, 2015), the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) is organizing a seperate International Composition Competition. The prime aim of this competition is to encourage the creation of new works for Piano Trio. This competition is dedicated to a work for

Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello

with a maximum length of 15 minutes. The award winning work will be on the programme as a compulsory piece of music in the 3rd round of the competition „Franz Schubert and Modern Music“ taking place in 2015, i.e. all ensembles in this round will play the award winner’s composition.

Moreover, a selected ensemble will present the awarded piece at the gala concert in the framework of the KUG-subscription at Stefaniensaal, Congress Graz.

The International Competition „Franz Schubert and Modern Music“ is a chamber music competition in the disciplines of „Duo for Voice and Piano (Lied)“, „String Quartet“ and „Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello“.
