The “Surround Sound Sessions“ were part of the KUG subscription series abo@MUMUTH at the Theater im Palais (T.i.P.) and offered an exciting new way of experiencing sound and in particular music for string quartet: the musicians mixed with the audience who took a seat on stage.

A short video by the Graz-based multimedia company “The Schubidu Quartet“ which can be found on the KUG YouTube channel makes it possible to get an idea of this exceptional concept and concert.

The concept “Surround Sound Sessions” was awarded with the Special Prize for Audience Engagement at the 10th International Chamber Music Competition “Franz Schubert and Modern Music” by a jury consisting of Constanze Wimmer (jury chair, KUG), Matthias Naske (Konzerthaus Wien), Ulla Pilz (KUG) and Sabine Reiter (mica – music austria).
