The Lied duo Ziegler-Wiesner was founded during the joint study time in the Lied class Prof. Kammerlander at the Academy of Music Franz Liszt Weimar. Since then they have constantly expanded their repertoire and perform regularly. The focus is on the German and French repertoire. Master classes with Olaf Bär, Axel Bauni, Gabriela Fontana and most recently with Christoph Prégardien give the duo additional ideas. Sylvia Rena Ziegler and Friederike Wiesner participated in the Liedforum 2010 at the University of Arts Berlin.

Sylvia Rena ZIEGLER, mezzo-soprano (Germany)
Born in Boma in 1986, she received her first musical training in Leipzig in 2002. From 2005 to 2011 she studied voice at the University of Music in Weimar (diploma 2011), in the same year she made a change of voice to the mezzo-soprano and since 2011 she has been in the opera studio of the Stuttgart University of Music. In addition to her concert career she had u. a. Stage performances as Annina in "La Traviata" (Staatstheater Stuttgart), as Iduna in "The Fireworks" (Landestheater Eisenach) and as Nanette in the "Wildschütz" (Schlossfestspiele Wernigerode).

Friederike WIESNER, piano (Germany)
Born in 1980 in Groß-Umstadt, she received her first music education in 1989 in Richen. She studied at the Universities of Music Frankfurt am Main (2000-2008) and Weimar (from April 2009), graduated with a diploma in "Artistic Education Piano" in 2008 and completed the first part of the concert exam Lied Accompaniment. In 2010 she received a diploma in the Fibich Melodrama Competition in Prague and also the Sponsorship Award of the University of Arts Berlin - Vocal Ensemble. She was a finalist at the International Hugo Wolf Competition (September 2010) and had a guest engagement at the Frankfurt Opera in the series "oper unterwegs" (3 seasons). In 2007 she played the Brahms Liebeslieder-Walzer on GENUIN label.
