The duo Hempel-Seroussi was founded on the occasion of a cultural exchange with the Julliard School in New York, since then regularly concerts in Germany and abroad. End of 2009, a CD recording with works by Schumann and Elgar.
The duo was invited on the initiative of the competition to a concert at the Festival Internacional de Ushuaia, Argentina, on 4 May 2009. Daniel Seroussi also performed on May 7, 2009 as a piano soloist with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra at this festival.
Stefan HEMPEL, violin (Germany)
Born in 1980 in Leipzig, Germany. First lessons 1984 in Leipzig with Inge Schmidt. Further lessons with Michael Vogler (1996-2002), Stephan Picard (since 2003) and Eberhard Feltz (since 1999). Master Classes with Rainer Kussmaul (2007), Kolja Blacher (2005), Erich Höbarth (2007), Shmuel Ashkenasi (2008). Studied at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. 2005 diploma and 2008 concert exam with distinction. 2006 3rd Prize at the International Max Rostal Violin Competition, 2005 Boris Pergamenshikov Prize for Chamber Music, 2007 3rd Prize "Michael Hill-Violin Competition" Auckland (New Zealand), 2008 Special Prize for Contemporary Music at the Violin Competition "Andrea Postacchini" in Fermo, Italy.
International concert activity (USA, Japan) as a soloist and chamber musician. Principal of the Chagall Quartet, performing at numerous festivals such as At the Rheingau Music Festival, Festival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Orfeo Festival. Teaching assignment for violin at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. Since 2009 violinist of the Morgenstern Trio and with this trio many concerts ao. in Luxembourg, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Vienna and Graz.
Daniel SEROUSSI, Klaiver (Israel)
Born in 1985 in Tel Aviv, Israel. First class in 1991 in Ramat-Gran (Israel) with Neta Yahel. Further lessons with Emanuel Krasovsky (1999-2006) and Michael Endres (2006-2008).
Master classes with Dimitri Bashkirov (2008), Martino Trimo (2003-2005), Jacob Lateiner (2004). 2003-2006 studies at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, since 2007 at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. 2006 Bachelor of Arts with Distinction at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, 2003 3rd Prize at the Tel-Hai Masterclass Concert Competition. 2006 2nd prize in the "Katz" competition, 2008 DAAD award for outstanding foreign students of the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin. Solo appearances with the "Israel Symphony Orchestra" (2005) and the "Thelma Yellin Orchestra" 2003. Several piano and chamber music evenings.
