RUBENS QUARTETT was founded in 2000. Studied at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam for three years. Since 2005 studies with Eberhard Feltz at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. Awarded the Dutch Art Prize, 2003 winner of the Chamber Music Competition Almere, 2004 Anton Kersjes van de Groenekan Prize and 2nd Prize at the International String Quartet Competition Tromp in Eindhoven, 3rd Prize at the String Quartet Competition of the Prague Spring 2005 Festival Cellist Stefan Metz (Orlando Quartet); Numerous master classes i. a. Milan Škampa, Thomas Brandis, György Kurtág and members of the Amadeus, Borodin and Juilliard Quartet. As "quartet-in-residence" of the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies in 2002 and 2003, one month intensive supervision of Hugh Maguire (Allegri Quartet). Invitation of the Orpheum Foundation to the Tonhalle Zurich, performances in Paris, at the International Festival of Quatuor à Cordes du Lubéron in the south of France, London and Ljubljana.

The quartet plays instruments from the collection of the Dutch National Music Instruments Fund.

Joachim EIJLANDER, Violoncello (Netherlands)

Born in Rotterdam (Netherlands). Studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht with Elias Arizcuren and Laurenţiu Sbârcea. Masterclasses with Clemens Hagen, László Mezö and Antonio Meneses.

Roeland JAGERS, Viola (Netherlands)

Born in Eindhoven (Netherlands). Studied at Brabants Conservatorium and Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag with Ferdinand Erblich, Vladimir Mendelssohn and Nobuko Imai. Masterclasses with Ervin Schiffer, Wolfram Christ and Milan Škampa.

Sidonie RIHA, violin (Germany)

Born in Berlin (Germany). Studied at the Hochschule für Musik Cologne and at the Maastricht Conservatory with Charles-André Linale, Boris Belkin and Robert Szreder. Masterclasses with Ana Chumachenko, Ivan Strauš and Yfrah Neaman.

Quirine SCHEFFERS, violin (Netherlands)

Born in Veldhoven (Netherlands). Studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, at the Musikhochschule Hannover, at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin and at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam with Theodora Geraets, Krzysztof Wegrzyn and Peter Brunt. Masterclasses with Hermann Krebbes, Zakhar Bron and Helmut Zehetmair.
