The Trio Image was established in 2000. All ensemble members studied with Andreas Reiner (Rosamunde Quartett) at Folkwang Hochschule Essen (Germany). In February 2004 the musicians graduated from their studies with distinction. The Trio Image already performed in concerts in Germany, Austria and Bulgaria during its studies. Among other events they were invited to play at the International Music Festival Varna Summer and on the occasion of the “International Week“ at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz. In July 2005 the Trio was awarded the grant of the “Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Stiftung“ which paved the way for numerous other concert performances.
Pavlin NECHEV, Piano (Bulgaria)
Born in Pleven (Bulgaria). First musical education with Snejina Schoikowa in Pleven. Since 1999 studies at Folkwang Hochschule Essen (Germany), first with Boris Bloch, and from 2001 with Michael Roll. Graduation from artistic instrumental education class in 2004. Since October 2004 post-graduate studies of concert exams. Between 1990 and 1999 lessons with Antoaneta Vodenitscharova. Master classes with Oxana Yablonskaya, Catherine Vickers, Detlef Kraus, Ludmil Angelov, Milena Mollova, Bruce Vogt, Germaine Mounier. Numerous prizes and awards, among others the honorary diploma for extraordinary musical performances in 1999. Numerous concerts in Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, France and Turkey. Between September 2003 and February 2004 grant holder of the “Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie Frankfurt“ set up by the NRW arts foundation.
Gergana GERGOVA, Violin (Bulgaria)
Born in Pleven (Bulgaria). Musical education at Folkwang Hochschule Essen with Mintcho Mintchev, chamber music studies with Andreas Reiner. In summer 2004 graduation from instrumental education class with distinction. Since winter term 2004 master studies at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz with Yaïr Kless. Master classes with Mintcho Mintchev, Yfrah Neaman, Zakhar Bron, Yaïr Kless. First-prizewinner of the Competition for Young Violinists in Bulgaria in 1999. In 2003 first-prize- and special prizewinner of the Pancho Vladigerov International Piano and Violin Competition in Bulgaria. Concert performances and festivals in Bulgaria, Russia, Hungary, Spain, Germany and Austria. Recordings for the Bulgarian Broadcasting Station and the German WDR3.
Saerom PARK, Violoncello (Republic of Korea)
Born in Seoul (Korea). Debut as a solo performer together with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra at the age of 15. Studies at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen with Young-Chang Cho (violoncello) and Andreas Reiner (chamber music). Graduation from artistic instrumental education class with distinction. From 2004 post-graduate studies. Master classes, among others with Jeremy Menuhin, Yuri Gandelsman, Marc Coppey, Pavel Gililov. In 1996 first prizewinner of the Korean Times Competition, the World Times Competition, in 1997 first-prize- and special prizewinner for contemporary music on the occasion of the National Chamber Music Competition, in 1998 first prize and Johannes Brahms Prize of the German National Competition (Bundeswettbewerb). Concerts in Korea, Japan, the United States of America, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Serbia, South Africa, Austria and Russia, among others with Claude Frank, Joseph Silverstein, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Michel Strauss, Paul Coletti, Niek de Groot and Bernard Wambach. Recordings for the National Korean Broadcasting Station, Mezzo, TV3 in France and WDR3.
