The Quatuor Voce was founded in 2004. 3rd prize and youngest finalists at the International Chamber Music Competition Cremona 2005, 2nd prize (1st prize was not awarded) of the International Chamber Music Competition in Geneva 2006, “Grand Prix“ in the competition Forum Musical de Normandie, 3rd prize and special prize for a contemporary piece in the Joseph Haydn International Chamber Music Competition in Vienna 2007. In 2007 two prizes for interpretation at the International String Quartet Competition in Bordeaux for a Mozart quartet and a contemporary piece. Since 2007 they have been supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation. Since 2005 studies with the Ysaÿe Quartet at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP), further studies with Valentin Erben, Günter Pichler, Walter Levin, the Artemis Quartet, Christophe Coin (Mosaiques Quartet), Martin Lovett (Amadeus Quartet), Jean Mouillère (Via Nova Quartet), François Salque and the Talich Quartet. Master classes with Jean-François Zygel. Appearances, among others, at the Festival de Radio France and Montpellier, at the Flâneries Musicales de Reims, the Festival de Musique de Chambre de Divonne, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Grand Theatre de Bordeaux, the Cremona Theatre, the Mogador Theatre and the Maison de la Radio in Paris. Live accompaniment for silent movies by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, Ernst Lubitsch and Buster Keaton. The Quatuor Voce are the artistic directors of the String Festival in La Charité sur Loire and the Festival Le Coeur en Musiques in the South Ardèche region.
Sarah Dayan, Violin
Born in Clamart, France. First violin lessons in 1987 with Agnès Reverdy. Further studies with Olivier Charlier, the Ysaÿe Quartet and Christophe Poiget. Master classes with the Artemis Quartet, Hatto Beyerle and György Kurtág. Studies at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP) (1999-2007), ProQuartet (2004-2009) and at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris (CRR). In 2005 Prix Ravel de l’Academie in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Concerts with her quartet in Europe, Japan, North Africa and Central America.
Cecile Roubin, Violin
Born in Paris, France. First violin lessons in 1991 with Sophie Baduel. Further studies with Suzanne Gessner, Christophe Poiget, and Jean-Jacques Kantorow. Master classes with the Artemis Quartet, Hatto Beyerle and Eberhard Feltz. Studies at the CNR Paris, CNR Boulogne Billancourt and at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP). Numerous 1st prizes at various music conservatories.
Guillaume Becker, Viola
Born in Nantes, France. First lessons in 1988 with Pierre Lefebvre. Further studies with Tasso Adamopoulos, and Jean Sulem. Master classes with the Talich Quartet, Walter Levine and Atar Arad. Studies at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux and at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP).
Julien Decoin, Violoncello
Born in Auxerre, France. First cello lessons in 1984 with Eric Picard. Further studies with Xavier Gagnepain, Hélène Dautry and Michel Strauss. Master classes with François Salque. Studies at the CNR de Boulogne Billancourt and at the CNR Lille and the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP). Director of the string festival of La Charité sur Loire.
