The duo received further prizes in 2009: 2nd prize at the International Competition “Das Lied“ in Berlin in February 2009 (a first prize was not awarded), 1st prize at the International Cantilena Song Competition in Bayreuth in May 2009, 3rd prize at the 1st International Schubert Competition for Lied Duo in Dortmund, Germany in October 2009.
The duo performs Lied recitals with the Cologne Philharmonics; the Festival in Bergen, Norway; the Festival Hall in Baden-Baden, the Viennese Musikverein; the Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland; the Liedersommer in Speyer, Germany; and the Bach Festival in Arnstadt, Germany, among others.
Tobias Berndt, Baritone/Bass (Germany)
Born in Berlin in 1979. First lessons in 1989 with Günther Biehn in Dresden (Dresdner Kreuzchor). Further studies with Christiane Junghanns (1998-2000), Hermann Christian Polster (2000-2006) and Rudolf Pierny (2006-2008). Master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (2005, 2006, 2008), Norman Shelter (2008) and Wolfram Rieger (2006). Studies at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig and at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2006 Diploma, in 2008 Professional Performance Degree. 3rd prize at the National Competition in Berlin in 2004, scholarship award at the Hugo Wolf Competition in Stuttgart in 2007, 1st prize at the Brahms Competition in Pörtschach in 2008, prize at the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg in 2008, Mauersberger scholarship in Dresden in 1998, Jütting scholarship in Stendal in 2005. Concerts in Germany and abroad, such as the Händel Festival, Salzburg Festival, Prag Spring, Dresden Music Festival.

Born in Altenburg, Germany, in 1981. Studies with Gabriele Kupfernagel (2000-2004), Birgitta Wollenweber (2004-2006), since 2007 with Wolfram Rieger (Berlin) and Norman Shetler (Vienna). Master classes with Irwin Gage (2007) and Axel Bauni (2009). Studies at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler“ Berlin. Performance and teaching diplomas. Prizewinner of the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg and the contest “Das Lied“ International Song Competition Berlin. Concerts in Germany, Norway, Austria, such as the Salzburg Festival, Festspillene i Bergen, Philharmonie Köln, Ruhr-Klavierfestival, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin.
