Peter McGILLVRAY, Baritone (Canada) Born in Saskatchewan (Canada). Studies at the University of Toronto’s Opera Division with Lynn Blaser and Patricia Kern. Master classes at the Britten-Pears Young Artists Program in Aldeburgh (England) and at festivals in Tanglewood, Aspen and Ravinia in the United States. In 2003 two first prizes (voice and audience award) presented by CBC/Radio-Canada Young Performers Competition in Calgary. Laureate at the Internationaler Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb für Klavier und Gesang Zwickau in 2004. In 2005 2nd prize of the Queen Sonja International Music Competition in Oslo (Norway) and Chalmers Prize for “Best Canadian Performance“ on the occasion of the Concours International Musical de Montréal (Canada). Solo performances with orchestras in Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and Liverpool. Peter McGillivray is a member of the Ensemble Studios of the Canadian Opera Company.
Stacey Bartsch, Piano (Australia)
Born in Adelaide (Australia). Studies at the University of Adelaide with Noreen Stokes and Stefan Ammer, at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz with Gerhard Zeller and at the Royal Academy of Music London with Julius Drake. Master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Malcolm Martineau, Peter Schreier, Paul Hamburger, Charles Spencer, Graham Johnson, Philip Langridge, Ann Murray and Roger Vignoles. Duo partner of the third-prize winner Peter McGillivray at the Internationaler Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb für Klavier und Gesang Zwickau in 2004. In the same year she was awarded the accompanist prize of the 11. Internationaler Johannes-Brahms-Wettbewerb in Pörtschach. Concert performances in the Schubert Saal Wien, in the Radiokulturhaus Wien, in the Opéra Bastille Paris and on the occasion of the Cleveland Art Song Festival, performances as Lied accompanist to the tenor Robert Tear at Aldeburgh Festival and in London’s Wigmore Hall. In 2005 “Vocal Piano Fellow“ at the Tanglewood Music Center in Massachusetts (USA). Stacey Bartsch is currently a vocal coach at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz.
