1st Prize/International Competition for Composition 2014 for “Resistance of elements”
Ayaz Gambarli studied at Baku Music College (Azerbaijan) with Sevda Babazade from 1999 to 2003 and got a Diploma in Piano. From 2003 to 2007 studies at Baku Music Academy, his major teacher was Arif Melikov. Bachelor Degree in Classical Composition.
He won a lot of prizes, a. o. 2005 Diploma 4th International Pre-art Composition Competition, Zurich, Switzerland, 2011 “Gənclər mükafatı” (Youth award) for his accompolishments in music/composition, for representation of Republic of Azerbaijan in abroad by the Ministry of Youth a Sport of Republic of Azerbaijan, 2011 Winner (1st award) at ALEA III 29th International Composition Prize, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
In 2012 he participated in “Kyiv Music Fest”, a festival for contemporary music in Kiev, Ukraine, and “TonLagen” Contemporary Music Festival, Dresden, Germany.
Until 2011 he worked as a teacher for composition, instrumentation and orchestration in “Bulbul” elementary music school.
His compositions are a. o. Sketches (for solo piano 2003), Piano trio (violin, cello and piano 2004), Divertissement (for symphonic orchestra 2005), String quartet (2006), Concert for piano and symphonic orchestra (2007), Waltz from an old Gramophone (for flute, clarinet in b, violin, cello and piano 2008), Four conventional images (for cello and piano 2009), Composition resolved to dots (for flute, clarinet in b, violin, cello and piano 2010), Méthode de sens (for ensemble of nine players 2011), Confluence I (for violin, viola and cello 2012), Confluence II (for flute, violin, viola and cello 2013).
